Smith Elementary’s Anchored 4 Life Crew Celebrates a Year of Growth with Team-Building Adventure

The fourth and fifth grade Anchored 4 Life (A4L) crew from Smith Elementary School wrapped up their school year with an unforgettable end-of-year team building field trip to Fun Forest in Homburg, Germany. This exciting outing wasn’t just about fun—it was a celebration of the students’ dedication, leadership, and commitment to building a stronger school community.
Throughout the year, the A4L Crew has worked tirelessly to support their peers and promote resilience across the school. Their efforts culminated in a special trip, designed to both reward their hard work and strengthen the bonds within the team.
The day’s activities were rooted in the “7 C’s of Resilience”—Character, Competence, Confidence, Connection, Coping, Control, and Contribution—core values that A4L instills in its student leaders. From navigating rope courses to cheering each other on through challenges, students demonstrated these traits in action, building not only memories but also deeper trust and teamwork.
“This trip was more than just a reward,” said A4L advisor Ja’wann Jackson. “It was a chance for our students to reflect on their growth, celebrate their achievements, and prepare to lead with even more purpose next year.”
As the A4L Crew looks ahead to the next school year, they carry with them the lessons learned and the connections strengthened during this meaningful experience. With their resilience toolkit in hand, they are ready to continue making a positive impact on their school and community.
