Smith Elementary Students Learn Fire Safety From Baumholder Firefighters

Smith Elementary School’s Pre-K Bulldogs had an unforgettable experience this week when members of the local fire department visited the school to teach fire safety and showcase their bright red firetruck.

Wide-eyed students listened as firefighters explained their equipment, demonstrated safety techniques, and shared how they help protect the community. The visit gave students a chance to explore the truck up close, ask questions, and meet the firefighters in person.

The highlight of the day came when each child climbed into the driver’s seat to pretend to steer the truck and honk the horn, sparking excitement and smiles all around.

Teachers said the visit was both fun and educational, helping students build confidence, spark curiosity, and create memories that will last long after the sirens fade.
